Not a State but a District

Not too much to say about DC—except it’s basically the intersection of art, history, and politics. The African Art Museum feels like this bold reminder of cultural resilience and creativity that so many people overlook, which kind of reflects the city itself. The Smithsonian museums are amazing and free, but it’s hard not to think about how much funding for the arts is constantly on the chopping block. DC’s not just a city; it’s a reflection of who we are, what we value, and what we need to fight for. Support the arts !
