PACAYA VOLCANO (Volcan Pacaya)

Located near Guatemala City, Pacaya Volcano is one of Central America's most active volcanoes, offering hikers the chance to witness spectacular eruptions up close. The trek to the summit is relatively accessible, making it a popular destination for both seasoned trekkers and casual travelers. When you get to the top, you have the chance to roast marsh mellows and have pizza cooked in the fire pit sourced from the volcano’s lava!

The hike took roughly 2.5-3 hours, and was gradually uphill. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes with a grip since most of the terrain is volcanic ash (like a sand consistency). Take advantage of the sticks they provide you, they are similar to trekking poles and aid in stability.
