The city of Philadelphia. Not to be confused with Pennsylvania (the state), like many people do (it’s OK). Philly is a city that feels real (sometimes TOO real)—it’s got this gritty charm(?) that grows on you the more time you spend here. Living here, you get to know the little things that make it special, like grabbing a breakfast sandwich from the corner deli or hanging out at Rittenhouse Square when the weather’s nice. Yeah, there’s the historical stuff, but day-to-day life is more about the energy of the neighborhoods. South Philly’s got this tight-knit vibe, and some of the best food (in my opinion), and North Philly feels like another world (if you know you know). SEPTA can be a mess, but it gets you where you need to go. In comparison to other cities, Philly’s not trying to be flashy—it’s just itself.
