On the other hand, we ended up taking a short trip to Abu Dhabi to see one of the grandest mosque’s in the UAE. This was recommended by one of our tour guides in Dubai, and the trip was absolutely worth it. For some background, The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is one the world's largest mosques and a massive architectural work of art that intentionally blends different Islamic architectural schools. It features 82 domes, more than 1,000 columns, 24-carat-gold gilded chandeliers and the world's largest hand-knotted carpet. When you visit, make sure you cover from head to toe :)
