Valencia
Valencia was definitely my favorite city out of the three we went to. We chose Valencia as one of the cities to go to since during the last week of August there is a festival known as La Tomatina (covered in another tab). Valencia has wide, sandy beaches, beautiful and unique architecture, and honestly overall the vibe was better than the other major cities of Spain, in my opinion. Less people spoke English there, but fortunately my 4 give-or-take years of taking Spanish classes was actually able to pull through this time (for the most part).
I would say Valencia is a lot more rural, however you can definitely get to many places on foot. I think that’s the best way to explore these kind of places because it lets you see things and places in more detail.
The food here is incredible. Valencia is known for their paella, and they do not disappoint! And, they also have their own type of Horchata - which is made from the chufa bean and sometimes they add cinnamon. We honestly kept going back for more of just that.
